Margarette Purvis
President and CEO of the Food Bank For New York City |
Margarette Purvis leads Food Bank For New York City, the country’s largest food bank serving one out of every five New Yorkers. In this role, Ms. Purvis leads and oversees the strategic vision for all of Food Bank’s operations, philanthropy and programming, including the organization’s citywide food distribution system and member network of over 1,000 charities and schools. In addition, Ms. Purvis, who has more than 20 years of experience in services to our nation’s most vulnerable, was selected by Governor Andrew Cuomo to chair the New York State Anti-Hunger Task Force, where she’s leading the drafting of recommendations for better coordination of hunger relief services and policy throughout the state. Ms. Purvis was also recently appointed to the Community Schools Advisory Board by Mayor Bill de Blasio. She was recently named to the NonProfit Times’ 2014 Power and Influence Top 50, a national list of leaders in the nonprofit sector.
Prior to becoming Food Bank President and CEO in 2011, Ms. Purvis was CEO and Principal of PCG Services, an Atlanta-based firm. PCG developed and implemented social and philanthropic programming and branding strategies for businesses, notables, nonprofits and government agencies. Before founding PCG Services, Ms. Purvis was Vice President of National Programming at Points of Light Foundation, leading the launch and implementation of its multimillion dollar programs and civic engagement units while overseeing large-scale disaster initiatives in response to Hurricane Katrina. Prior to that Ms. Purvis served her first term at Food Bank as the organization’s Vice President of Programs and Services where for five years she developed national award-winning programs, including the Education Institute and Kids Café programs. Ms. Purvis’ leadership also includes director and management level positions with our country’s oldest HIV/AIDS program (Bailey’s House) and government programs including USDA’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and City of New York’s HRA. Ms. Purvis is an alumnus of Dillard University where she studied Urban Studies and Public Policy. She also studied Nonprofit Management in the BA/MS program at the Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy at The New School. Ms. Purvis is a board member of the Food Bank Association of New York State and a proud member of Links, Incorporated. |
Gregory North
Chief Process Officer for Xerox Services |
Gregory D. North is Chief Process Officer for Xerox Services. He was named to this position on February 17, 2014.
North is responsible for working with each Xerox Services business and function to lead business process transformation by applying industry standards and Lean Six Sigma principles to common processes across the organization. In addition, he will lead the development of the foundational processes that will support our new operating model. Most recently, North was Vice President, Corporate Lean Six Sigma and Business Transformation where he was responsible for leading the company’s Lean Six Sigma program and ongoing business transformation journey. North joined Xerox in January 2011 and has led the Lean Six Sigma community while working closely with senior leadership to take Lean Six Sigma programs to the next level through the introduction of LSS 2.0. In 2012, North established the Corporate Business Transformation office to support major programs in the Xerox Technology and Services Businesses. In 2013, North launched the Business Process Services program, providing program management and re-engineering capability to Xerox global accounts. Before joining Xerox, North was with Fidelity Investments where he led numerous quality and transformation programs including Lean Six Sigma deployment, adoption of Management by Fact, LSS support for strategic accounts, and deployment of a global Quality Management System. Prior to Fidelity, North held a range of business excellence and quality positions at M/A-COM Wireless Communications, part of Tyco International. While at M/A-COM, he was responsible for certification to ISO-9001, deployment of Lean Six Sigma, implementation of SAP and a redesign of the global supply chain. North serves on the Conference Board’s Council of Six Sigma Executive and the American Society for Quality’s Enterprise Leaders Roundtable. He is a certified Master Black Belt and holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary. |
James "Jamie" Bonini
Vice President, Toyota Production System Support Center (TSSC) |
James “Jamie” Bonini is vice president of TSSC at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA), located near Cincinnati in Erlanger, Kentucky. TEMA supports Toyota's engineering and manufacturing operations in North America. TSSC is a not-for-profit corporation affiliated with TEMA which shares Toyota Production System (TPS) know-how with North American organizations that have a true desire to learn and adopt TPS; as a way to strengthen their production system.
Bonini began his career with Toyota in 2002, as assistant general manager for TSSC, responsible for planning and leading shop floor improvement activities. He later joined Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky’s powertrain group as assistant general manager responsible for V6 and four cylinder engines as well as axle production, quality and safety. From 2004-10, he served as general manager for TEMA’s supplier commodity engineering (SCE) division which leads new model projects and mass production supplier development projects in North America. His duties included managing supplier parts for new model preparations as well as mass production models. Prior to joining Toyota, Bonini worked at DaimlerChrysler where he held a variety of roles including the company’s cost management group and new model projects at three assembly plants in North America. He also held key positions with Tritec Motors and the Pilette Road Truck Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University (1985), a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley (1987) and two Master of Science degrees in management and material science engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1992). |
